As much as the first Beyond 2020 exceeded our expectations, we’re changing a few things at the next one. Here’s a lowdown:
- Stronger theme, stronger action. All Beyond 2020 sessions should relate to our theme, “Growing the choir: Engaging business leaders in sustainability”. Sessions should also generate commitment to action: let’s discuss how to grow the sustainability choir and agree on concrete actions to take in the days and weeks following Beyond 2020. Then, let’s do it and evaluate at the next Beyond 2020.
- More open space. Beth Meredith of CreateTheGoodLife.org has agreed to lead the agenda-setting part of Beyond 2020. Her experience with Open Space will ensure an improved unconference experience for you. Thank you, Beth!
- More sessions. The good folks at Beam Development have offered us the use of three ground-floor atriums at the Olympic Mills Commerce Center. That means we’ll be able to hold at least two more sessions for a total of 6. (If more sessions get proposed, the atriums can be divided into 2; we’ll also explore the possibility of holding additional sessions in the Red Slate wine shop.)
- No seeded sessions. All Beyond 2020 sessions will be determined at the event. You can propose a session in the Comments of the Sessions page, but you have to register and attend to facilitate. Learn more about what happens at Beyond 2020.
